The 3D2N open trip, also called a share trip, is priced per person, per voyage, by cabin type. Two guests in a Deluxe cabin each pay IDR 7,750,000 (USD 530); in the Master cabin each pays IDR 8,500,000 (USD 570). Weekend departures run Friday to Sunday and weekday departures Monday to Wednesday, every week of the year; Komodo Luxury’s open / share trip page explains the format.

The trade-off is company. A Deluxe cabin sleeps two, so a couple fills it and keeps the balcony to themselves. The 360° rooftop deck, the shaded sundeck, the indoor dining area and every island stop are shared with the other guests on that departure; the boat carries up to 15 in total.

A private charter books the whole boat. The rate is per charter, not per person, and a couple falls into the 1–8 guests band: IDR 104,000,000 (USD 6,200) for 3D2N. Best moments for two on the 3D2N route

The published 3D2N itinerary fits most of the park’s well-known stops into three days. These parts suit a honeymoon best.

• Day 1, 16:30: sunset at Kalong Island. After Kelor Island and snorkelling at Manjarite, the boat reaches this mangrove island for sunset and dinner. Flying foxes roost in the mangroves and usually stream out around dusk; they are watched from the boat, and numbers vary.
• Day 2, 06:00: Padar Island trek. Padar lies between Komodo and Rinca and is the third-largest island in the park, with steep hills around deep bays whose beaches range from white to grey and pink sand. • Day 2, 09:00: Pink Beach. The tint comes from fragments of red organ-pipe coral and the reddish shells of foraminifera mixed into white sand. It usually shows most clearly near the waterline.
• Day 2, 14:30 and 16:30: Manta Point and Taka Makassar. Manta rays are often seen at Manta Point, conditions permitting, but never guaranteed. Taka Makassar, the small sandbar nearby, is most exposed around low tide. Sunset on board follows at 17:30 and dinner at 18:00.
• Day 3, 06:00: sunrise and breakfast on board. A last snorkel at Sebayur Island follows at 08:00.

Day 2 also includes a trek on Komodo Island at 11:30 to look for the dragons, which are wild animals and may not appear on the trail. Destinations can change with weather and field conditions.

The rate includes documentation by drone, GoPro and mirrorless camera, delivered as raw footage only. A drone permit for Komodo National Park is optional, is not included, and must be requested 7 days before the trip.

When to go: April, November and the months between

Komodo’s dry season runs roughly from April to October, when seas are usually calmer and the water clearer. The rainy season runs roughly from December to March, and January and February usually bring the heaviest rain and the roughest crossings. April and May follow the rains, so the hills are usually still green; by the middle of the dry season they turn golden-brown.

How to book a honeymoon cruise from Labuan Bajo

A 50% down payment secures the booking and is non-refundable. Full payment is due no later than 30 days before departure, and trips less than 30 days away are paid in full. Bookings made one year in advance start with a 30% deposit, then a further 20% 120 days before the trip and the balance 30 days before departure.

Cancellations forfeit 100% of payments made. Payments cannot be refunded, rescheduled or transferred to another trip, although a replacement guest may be nominated. On a private charter, a delay caused by late arrival shortens the itinerary, and the charter period is not extended. For a honeymoon, that means fixing the wedding and flight dates before paying.
