It depends on how the boat is booked. A Komodo cruise is sold either per person on a shared open trip or per charter for the whole vessel, and the gap between the two is wide. All figures below are Ayvara’s 2027 publish rates, rate sheet dated 11 September 2026. Ayvara sits in the VIP class of the Komodo Luxury fleet; other boats price differently, so this guide does not quote them. What carries over to any Komodo boat is the method: check the unit, check the inclusions, then add the extras.

Open trip: price per person, by cabin

On an open trip (also called a sharing or share trip), guests pay per person and sail a scheduled 3 days 2 nights route with other travellers. The unit is per person, per 3D2N voyage, and the rate depends on cabin type. Ayvara’s weekend departures run Friday to Sunday and weekday departures Monday to Wednesday, every week of the year.

The Open Trip Ayvara 2027 sheet also prints an additional-pax rate of IDR 4,500,000 / USD 330; the reservations desk confirms how it applies to a given cabin. Two people sharing a Superior cabin pay 2 × USD 450, so USD 900 (IDR 13,500,000) for the voyage before extras. Children aged 3 and above are charged the full rate.

Private charter: price per boat, by duration and group size

A private charter buys the whole boat. The unit is per charter, not per person, and the rate sheet has two guest bands: 1–8 guests and 9–15 guests.

Two patterns are worth noticing. Dividing the published rates by the number of nights, every charter from 3D2N upward works out at the same nightly amount: IDR 52,000,000 / USD 3,100 for 1–8 guests and IDR 59,000,000 / USD 3,500 for 9–15 guests. The one-night 2D1N charter costs more per night than the longer trips.

Group size changes the maths as well. A full group of 15 splitting the 3D2N charter evenly pays about USD 467 a head (USD 7,000 ÷ 15), or about IDR 7,867,000 (IDR 118,000,000 ÷ 15). That falls inside the open-trip range of USD 450–570 / IDR 6,750,000–8,500,000 per person, with the whole boat to themselves. It is simple arithmetic, not a published per-person rate. What the price includes

Ayvara’s published inclusions are:

• Stay on the boat during the trip, in an air-conditioned cabin with en-suite bathroom
• Meals during the trip
• Mineral water, coffee and tea
• Guide
• Snorkelling gear and life vest
• Documentation with drone, GoPro and mirrorless camera (raw footage only)
• Pick-up and drop-off within the Labuan Bajo mainland area near the harbour, with pick-up arranged between 8 and 9 a.m.

Starlink internet is on board. Pick-up does not cover accommodation on other islands or in the Manjaga area, so guests staying there need to make their own way to the harbour.

Komodo National Park fees

Park fees are not included in any Ayvara rate. Komodo National Park, founded in 1980 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991, charges visitors under the Indonesian government’s non-tax state revenue (PNBP) tariff, which is set by government regulation. That tariff was revised in October 2024 under Government Regulation 36 of 2024 and can change again. The amount depends on the regulations in force at the time of the trip, so no figure is quoted here. Crew gratuities

Crew gratuities are listed as an exclusion. No amount is published.

Drinks, snacks and personal expenses

Mineral water, coffee and tea are included. Alcoholic drinks, other non-alcoholic drinks, personal snacks and personal expenses are not.

Flights and hotel nights

Flight tickets are not included. Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo has direct flights from Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali; airlines and timetables change, so check current schedules before booking. Drone permit

A drone permit for Komodo National Park is optional and excluded. It must be requested 7 days before the trip.

Deposit and payment rules

• Deposit: a 50% down payment secures the booking. The deposit is non-refundable.
• Balance: full payment no later than 30 days before departure. Trips less than 30 days away are paid in full.
• Booking a year ahead: 30% deposit, a further 20% 120 days before the trip, and the balance 30 days before departure.
• Bank charges: borne by the sender.
• Validity: rates apply to the year in which they are issued and may change annually with fuel, routes and government regulations.

The cancellation terms are strict. A cancellation forfeits 100% of payments made; payments cannot be refunded, rescheduled or transferred to another trip, although a replacement guest may be nominated. Force majeure, including weather, natural disaster, government regulation and flight cancellation, may change or cancel a trip without refund. On a private charter, a late arrival shortens the itinerary; the charter period is not extended.

Given those terms, travel insurance that covers cancellation and flight disruption belongs in the budget.
